Woo-hooo! What a Weekend!

Starting last Friday night, this was one busy weekend.

The Block Party for residents of the Historic District kicked off another Mother’s Day Home & Garden Tour. Never have I heard so many people together using their “outside voices” inside. It was loud and fun and just a wee bit crazy. Not way crazy. Just a wee bit. But I will say, antiques did get broken. I can attest that it was an accident, though. It was simply a matter of hundred year old materials giving out. And that’s all I’ve got say. So don’t ask. My lips are sealed.

I’m still editing the images from the block party. However, the photos from Sunday’s Tour are up for your viewing pleasure. If you see your smiling face, I’d love to hear from you. I’d like to attribute names to faces where possible. If not, you know who you are — and so does your mother. And, really, that’s all that matters.

Sunday was a great day. I had the opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful people, many of whom took me by the shoulder and introduced me to other kind folks who were willing to offer help with fleshing out the history of the homes and people on Swiss. Some were kind enough to point me in the right direction to seek out funding for The Swiss Avenue Project. It was a very good day. We should do this again sometime.
